The Triton Girls and Boys Basketball teams will be hosting the 2021 dodgeball tournament on November 13th to help raise funds for equipment, uniforms, and summer fee’s. Please help the Trojans by coming out and participating in our annual dodgeball tournament.

Cost: $70 per team (7 people) Make checks payable to Triton Girls Basketball

Extra Life bracelets will be available for your purchase at $5 per bracelet. Each team member can buy up to two bracelets.

*Each team is guaranteed 2 games. The winner from the Triton Activities Center Bracket will face the winner from the High School Bracket for the championship. The Championship will be one match, winner takes all. The earlier you sign up the better draw you get.

Dodgeball Rules!
Starting the game:
-the balls will be placed on the centerline, and when the game begins the players will race to the center to fetch the balls for their team, Players may not dive headfirst or slide to retrieve the balls, any player doing so will be out.
-the balls can not be thrown for a certain amount of time (ref will tell the players when they can begin)
-all the players will begin behind the baseline of the basketball court
Elimination of Players:
A player is out if:
-they throw a ball that is caught by the other team
-they get hit by a ball thrown by the other team
- Players may use the ball to block; however, if the ball is knocked out of their hand while blocking, they will be out.
-they cross the centerline
A player is not out if:
-they get hit in the head (even when diving)
-the ball is caught after hitting something else. (wall, ceiling, another player, a ball, etc..)
-the ball hits them after it has already bounced off of another surface (wall, floor, another player, etc.)
Getting Back In: A player may return if:
-a player on their team catches a ball thrown from the opposing team
-they have purchased a “life band” ($5). Life Bands may be used once per game by each player that has purchased one. Extra life bands must be used immediately to get back into the game.
- There is a maximum of 2 Extra Life band per player per team.
- An Extra Life band may not be transferred between players. Extra Life bands can be used only by the player with the band.
How to Win: Your team wins if:
-you eliminate all the players on the opposing team
-you have the most players standing when the time limit is up (10 minutes)
- in the event of a tie the match will start over until one player is eliminated. Whichever team loses a player first will be out.
Playing Field/Boundaries:
-The playing field will be the basketball court and immediate surroundings.
-Teams will occupy one end of the basketball court and may advance as far forward as halfcourt.
- The final 2 minutes of the game the teams may advance as far forward as the opposite free-throw line.
Miscellaneous:
-any ball entering the bleachers or other area outside of the playing field will be put back into play on the side it exited from. NO ball can be thrown from outside the playing area.
- STALLING is not allowed. The act of intentionally delaying the game.

If a referee determines that a player or team is stalling, the referee will warn the player or team. If the stalling continues, at the referee’s discretion, the player or team will lose possession of all balls on their side.

Our court referee will not be able to see everything. Please be honest and have fun.

ALL DECISIONS MADE BY THE COURT REFEREE ARE FINAL. ARGUING OR CHEATING CAN RESULT IN TEAM DISQUALIFICATION FROM THE MATCH AND/OR THE TOURNAMENT.
