Senior Spotlight: Russell Reichard
Today Triton High School honors the accomplishments of senior Russell Reichard. Russell is the son of Tiffany and Kirt Reichard of Bourbon. This fall he plans to study Ag Mechanics at the University of Northwestern Ohio. As a student-athlete, Russell has run Cross Country for four years and Track & Field for three with plans to make it four this spring.
Q&A with Russell
Do you have any siblings? Yes, I am the older brother of Katie.
What awards did you earn during high school? For Cross Country, I made the Academic All-Conference Honor Roll as a junior and senior, the HNAC All-Conference Team all four years of high school, was an IHSAA Regional Qualifier all four years, an IHSAA Semi-State Qualifier my senior season, earned the Mental Attitude Award my sophomore season, and was named Triton's MVP my junior and senior seasons. For Track, I was named Most Improved in my sophomore season.
What clubs or activities do you participate in outside of sports? I'm a 10-year 4-H member and have been my 4-H club's treasurer for three years (Fr-Jr). Throughout high school, I have been active in my youth group. I was selected by my peers to be on the Senior Leadership Squad.
Who were your role models growing up? Who inspires you today? My dad is the most influential person in my life. He is always there for me whenever I need help and always supports me in everything that I do. He has never missed a single Cross Country or Track meet that I have been in. He is there to help me succeed in 4-H with my animal projects. He also shows me by example, the importance of helping others. I am really glad to have an awesome dad who is really understanding, pushes me to do better, and is always supportive of the things that I do.
What do you consider your biggest life accomplishment so far? Making it to Semi-State in Cross Country my senior season was a huge accomplishment for me.
Do you have any special talents? I'm a long-distance runner.
If you won an all-expenses-paid trip to anywhere in the world, where would you go? The Grand Canyon
